Former Minister Bishimbayev apologize to the Kazakh President and the Kazakhstani

Former Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbaev apologized to the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the citizens of the country for unjustifiable trust in the specialized inter-district court on criminal cases of Astana, reports Sputnik News agency.

He also confirmed that he is not guilty to the crimes described in the indictment.

‘I want to convey our society, and most importantly, the Kazakh President, the leader of the nation, Nursultan Nazarbayev that I am not involved in this deal. I owe our President all my professional achievements. I realize that I am guilty before the president. The people I knew and invited to work have let me down. I am responsible for this. I brought people who used my trust and me. I apologize to the head of state, to all our people for this situation. In spite of everything, I will be a devoted person to the president’, ex-Minister Bishimbayev said.

Recall, on January 12, 2017, the National Bureau for Anti-Corruption have detained former Minister of Kazakhstan’s National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev on suspicion of bribery. According to the investigation, he is suspected of corruption and theft of one billion tenge during the construction of the Kyzylorda glass factory. Besides him, another 22 people appeared on the court.
