Minister Abdrakhmanov participates in UN Secretary General’s meeting

On January 19, the Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov took part in the traditional monthly meeting of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres with the Permanent Representatives of the member countries of the Security Council.

 Kairat Abdrakhmanov reported the participants of the event with the progress of the Astana process on Syria. The Kazakh diplomat noted that the Astana site makes a significant contribution to the de-escalation of the armed confrontation in Syria and serves as a valuable addition to the negotiation process in Geneva under the auspices of the United Nations.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the development of the situation in Colombia in the context of the results of the visit of the UN Secretary-General to this country at the end of last week, also the current situation with ensuring the security of UN peacekeeping missions.
