The first round of political consultations about political, trade, economic and investment, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and the State of Qatar was discussed, reports the press service of Kazakhstan’s  Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Kazakhstan delegation was headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister Akylbek Kamaldinov, and Qatari delegation was headed by the Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry Dr Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi.

The parties outlined ways for cooperation development and expansion in bilateral and multilateral formats, discussed issues of interaction within international and regional organizations for coordination of positions and address current problems, as well as the mutual support of each other's foreign policy initiatives. In this context, Kazakhstan and Qatar delegations noted the importance of joint efforts within the framework of the United Nations in the light of the non-permanent membership of Kazakhstan in the UN Security Council.

The importance of cooperation by means of the Joint High-Level Commission and implementation of joint projects aimed at attracting investment to Kazakhstan’s economy was noted.

The parties agreed on setting a closer cooperation for implementation of joint projects in the fields of culture, education and science.
