Studying Computer Science may start from the first grade in Kazakhstan

In Kazakhstan, studying Computer Science may start from the first grade, reports Kazakhstan’s Minister of Education and Science Yerlan Sagadiyev during the Government hour in the Majilis.

"We are actively working with experts on the possibility of introducing the subject training from the first grade. Now the project is being developed, then a wide discussion will begin with the teaching staff and the public" he stressed.

According to him, the programming languages ​​are changing rapidly. Therefore, Kazakhstani students need to learn new programs. The Minister noted that in the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) the basics of programming are taught from the first grade. In Kazakhstan, the subject Computer Science in the school is studied from the 5th grade.  Starting from this year, the training will start from the third grade.

"At the same time, the programs of grades 5-11 will be updated with regard to the revision of programming languages," added Yerlan Sagadiev.
