In the next three years, all medical institutions of Kazakhstan will transfer to digital format of work, said the Minister of Healthcare, Yelzhan Birtanov, at the meeting of the Government.

Answering the questions of journalists, Y. Birtanov noted that for the purpose of digital modernization of healthcare, pilot paper-free management of medical records in 4 regions of the country was launched: Akmola, West Kazakhstan, Karagandy and Kostanay. It is expected that by the end of the year all areas will be transferred to this method of work.

"Within the framework of the project it is expected to abandon more than 120 paper forms that were required earlier by normative and legal acts," the Minister of Healthcare said.

Currently, the coverage of medical organizations by information systems was 75.5%, equipment with computers increased by 2.5 times. 56% of medical organizations have the Internet access. In fact, a single information system is available already at the level of district centres.

"In the next three years, all medical facilities in remote settlements will be transferred to the digital format of work," Y. Birtanov summed up.
