Kazakh President holds a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Samarkand

At the meeting, the sides highly appreciated the state of relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and outlined the prospects for their further development, reports the press service of Akorda.

The Head of State stressed the positive dynamics of bilateral cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and other spheres. In particular, they noted an increase in mutual trade turnover, promotion of productive contacts and ties between representatives of business communities of the two countries.

The President of Kazakhstan noted the fruitful nature of bilateral cooperation on topical issues of the international and regional agenda.

Besides, during the working trip to Samarkand, Nursultan Nazarbayev together with Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the memorial complex Khazret Khizr and paid tribute to the memory of the First President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov.

Also on the eve of the Nauryz holiday, common to the peoples of the two countries, the Head of State, accompanied by the President of Uzbekistan, inspected a number of cultural and historical sights of Samarkand.
