Kazakhstan delegation participates in the Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union

Kazakh delegation of the Parliament participates in the 138th Assembly of Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva on March 24-28, reports the Kazakh Senate's press service.

The delegation includes Senators Sergei Ershov and Yerik Sultanov, as well as Majilismens Bakhtiyar Maken and Irina Smirnova.

 The general debate of the Assembly was devoted to solving problems related to the protection of the rights of migrants and refugees. The agenda of the Inter-Parliamentary Union included the issues of strengthening peace as a means of achieving sustainable development, as well as involving the private sector in the implementation of sustainable development, especially in the field of renewable energy.

 On March 25, Kazakhstani parliamentarians held a meeting with their colleagues from Uzbekistan led by Akmal Saidov.

The sides noted the contribution of Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev to strengthening the strategic partnership of our states.

Kazakhstani representatives thanked Uzbekistan for their active participation in the international exhibition EXPO-2017 and opportunities that arise in connection with the opening of the Green Technologies Development Center and the AIFC. During the conversation, the prospects of Inter-Parliamentary interaction and exchange of experience in the legislative sphere also considered.
