PM holds a meeting on further gas supply of Kazakhstan

The Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a meeting on the implementation of the Roadmap within the framework of the Five Social Initiatives of the Head of State on March 5, 2018, reports

During the meeting, issues of construction of the Saryarka main gas trunkline along the Kyzylorda – Zhezkazgan – Karaganda – Temirtau – Astana route for gas supply of the central and northern regions of the country and the prospects for attracting funds from international financial institutions to the project were discussed.

The project will provide 2.7 million people with natural gas, create new small and medium businesses, additional jobs, develop the necessary infrastructure in the regions, and improve the environment (reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere).

Recall, at the first stage, it is planned to build a gas pipeline along the route Kyzylorda – Zhezkazgan – Karaganda – Temirtau – Astana with the length of 1081 km. In early July this year it is planned to start construction and hold a solemn ceremony of welding the first joint of the gas pipeline. In order to fill and ensure gas supply to consumers, akimats of Karaganda, Akmola regions and Astana will design and build gas distribution networks with synchronization of gas pipeline completion by July 2019.
