At a press conference of the Government on investment, trade and economic activities of this year, journalists raised a question on gas supply in Astana and suburban villages, reports

Answering the question, Vice Minister of Energy, Magzum Mirzagaliyev, noted that the construction of the Saryarka main gas pipeline will be implemented within the framework of the Fifth Social Initiative of the President of Kazakhstan.

"At the first stage, a gas pipeline with a length of more than a thousand kilometers will pass the territory of three regions — Kyzylorda, Karaganda and Akmola," Magzum Mirzagaliyev said.

According to the Vice Minister, all settlements along the main gas pipeline route will be provided with gas. "Blue fuel" will also come to the houses of suburban villages.

"At the second stage the gas pipeline will be stretched to the city of Kokshetau and further it will pass to the city of Petropavlovsk. Gas will also be supplied to all the villages of the northern regions of Kazakhstan, which are close to the gas pipeline,” the Vice Minister of Energy summed up.

It should be recalled, the direction "Further Gas Supply in the Country" of the President's Five Social Initiatives provides for the construction of the Saryarka main gas trunkline to provide natural gas to the population of the capital and northern regions of Kazakhstan.

The project on construction of the main gas pipeline will run along the route Karaozek (Kyzylorda region) — Zhezkazgan — Karaganda — Temirtau — Astana. It will allow not only to provide gas to 2.7 million people, but also to create new production of small and medium businesses. Ecology will also improve.

Only in Astana, the transfer to gas will reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere 6 times or 35 thousand tons per year. The implementation of this project will make it possible to provide gas to other regions in the future.
