Kazakh President visits new mosque in Astana

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited a new mosque situated in the Saryarka district, Astana ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, reports the Akorda press service.

During the visit, the President was briefed on the process of construction and alternative sources of energy used to supply the newly-built mosque with electricity and heating.

The construction of the mosque began in 2016, situated on the right bank of the Yessil River. It was built thanks to charity funds raised. The new mosque is designed for 750 visitors at once. The total area is 2,248 square meters.
