First solar power station launches in Mangistau

On May 1, the first solar plant opens in Mangistau, reports the press service of the local government of Mangistau reports.

The solar plant has no analogues in Kazakhstan. The solar power plant was built in the village of Batyr of the Munayli region on an area of 36.05 hectares.

The project costs 1.2 billion tenge, financed under the program ''Business Road Map 2020''. Its electricity generation capacity is 2 MW, it is 3500 kW hours per year. To operate the power plant installed more than 8000 solar panels in 39 rows.

Panels produced in Kazakhstan from domestic silicon. It is the first project of a power plant operating on solar panels of domestic production. The new facility to provide clean electricity for about 300 homes.
