"In 2017 more than 4 thousand km of highways of republican significance were covered with road-building works, of which 603 km already opened traffic. In general, we believe that until 2022 all 24 000 km of roads will be brought to a satisfactory condition," the minister said.

The flows of domestic tourism increased by 20% and amounted to about 6 million people," the head of the ministry noted.

Following the meeting and visits to the tourist cluster facilities, Nursultan Nazarbayev gave a number of specific instructions to the central state and local executive bodies on the further development of tourism in the country.

"Alakol should become the most visited place in Kazakhstan. It is distinguished by an advantageous location, which makes it accessible to residents of all regions. The uniqueness of the lake is in the healing properties of water containing radon, alkali and other useful elements. In this regard, Alakol is of great importance for our tourism industry," the Head of State concluded.
