The Head of State held a briefing for the representatives of the domestic media, at which he dwelled on the main directions of the development of the region and the instructions given to the region's leadership following the working visit.

"All my assignments in the region are being fulfilled. I think that the region is on a good start. Over three years, more than three million square meters of housing have been commissioned. Last year alone, 35 schools were built," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

In addition, the Head of State positively noted the implementation of the Five Social Initiatives in the region, and pointed to the need to develop the tourist potential of the region.

"During the trip I visited the tourist cluster of lake Alakol. I wanted to draw the attention of all Kazakhstanis to the fact that we have a wonderful vacation place there. Previously, it was not facilitated: there was no infrastructure, no hotels. Today representatives of business are actively working in this region. On the shore of the lake, a five-star hotel was built, which meets all world standards," the President of Kazakhstan said.

Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke about the current results and further plans for the implementation of infrastructure projects in the region.

"The state built a wonderful road Almaty – Taldykorgan. This will be a through road, which runs through Alakol to East Kazakhstan. Thanks to the construction, many jobs will be created," the Head of State said.

The President of Kazakhstan also noted the pace of development of the region, highlighting the positive dynamics of the region's key economic indicators.

"The Almaty region, especially in the agrarian sector, is an example for all. The region's economy grew by 4.2%, which is higher than the national average. Agriculture and construction have grown, and the volume of social facilities has increased," Nursultan Nazarbayev stated.

At the same time, the Head of State dwelled on tasks that require special attention of the region's leadership.

"The whole economy of the region is concentrated in 3-4 districts, where only industry is represented. These areas provide almost 70% of the region's economy. Other areas are poorly developed, we need to pay attention to this issue," the President of Kazakhstan noted.

Nursultan Nazarbayev also pointed to the need to develop the livestock sector and the agricultural processing sector in the region.
