In the multi-genre jubilee concert, popular works of Kazakh and foreign composers were performed. Among them are Kenes Duisekeyev's Oner Ordasy, a fragment from the opera Kyz Zhibek by Eugene Brusilovsky, Bulbul by Latif Hamidi, “Symphonic Dances” from the musical West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein and many other compositions.

The President of Kazakhstan congratulated all those present on the 20th anniversary of the University and noted that the high status of the capital implies the presence of a corresponding large cultural component.

"The creative intelligentsia makes an important contribution to the cultural life of the capital. I invited leading representatives of culture to Astana from Almaty and all over Kazakhstan. There are many universities in the world, but the University of Arts is only in Astana. Now we have the Opera and Ballet Theater, the Academy of Choreography, the Central Concert Hall and other cultural facilities. All this is for the future of our country, for culture and art," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The Head of State highly praised the role of leadership and faculty in the establishment and development of the University of Arts.

"This University has a college, a bachelor's degree, a master's degree and a doctorate. About 3000 people study here. For 20 years, more than 500 university graduates have become laureates of international competitions and reviews. I wish you success, new outstanding musicians, new names that will glorify our Motherland – the Republic of Kazakhstan!" concluded Nursultan Nazarbayev.
