Vice Minister of Culture and Sports Aktoty Raimkulova, Chairman of Kazakh Tourism Rashid Kuzembayev, director of Regional Ethnography Center of Sacral Kazakhstan, Candidate of Political Science Berik Abdigaliuly spoke about the implementation of the special project of the Ministry of Culture and Sports ''Sacral Geography of Kazakhstan'' at the briefing in the press center of the Government, reports primeminister.kz.

According to Raimkulova, the first stage of the project "Sacral Geography of Kazakhstan" has been completed. Under the Ruhani Zhangyru program, the books “Sacred Objects of Kazakhstan of National Importance” and “Regional Sacred Objects of Kazakhstan,” and the first volume of the Sacred Kazakhstan encyclopedia in Kazakh and Russian were published.

The Ministry is also working to promote the cultural image of Kazakhstan. Thirty videos for social networks on sacral objects in Kazakh, Russian and English have been developed. According to the vice minister, they are visiting cards of the regions where sacred objects are located.

At the same time, the series of films "Sacral Geography of Kazakhstan", "Golden Warrior", "Mausoleums of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and Aisha Bibi", produced with the participation of BBC World News, and other documentary films have been released. Almost all the films will be released with subtitles and dubbing in the six UN languages and will be aired on the Discovery, Viasat history, National Geographic TV channels with an audience of over 700 million people.

"The world premiere of the films is scheduled for June-July 2018. They will promote the image of Kazakhstan at the international level, as well as make the rich culture and geography of our country recognizable," added Raimkulova.

In order to develop the cultural and tourist cluster of the Northern, Western regions and Astana, three republican museum-reserves have been created: Bozoq, Botay and Saraishyk. In 2017, scientific and restoration work was completed on 25 monuments of history and culture of national importance, which are mainly objects included in the list of national places of Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Board of NC "Kazakh Tourism" Rashid Kuzembayev is convinced that the Sacral Geography project will contribute to the development of domestic tourism. "Each Kazakhstani family should have its own top-10 natural places and top-10 historical and cultural places in Kazakhstan, which it must visit," Kuzembaev said.

In his turn, director of Regional Ethnography Center “Sacral Kazakhstan,” candidate of political sciences Berik Abdigaliuly noted at the briefing that work on determining the sacred places of Kazakhstan is still ongoing. "We made lists of sacred places, included them in the Map, now there is an analysis, a discussion with scientists, the public in the regions. New sacred objects will be included in the interactive map of sacred places. It will be constantly updated with new objects. Now we are only at the beginning of the road," Abdigaliuli specified.

According to the scientist, in the first year of the implementation of the project, the public's interest in its roots, history and legends has been inspired, which speaks of the spiritual revival of the nation. The Head of State, initiating the adoption of such a large-scale project, also aims at this.

It should be recalled that in April 2017, Nursultan Nazarbayev's article “Looking into the Future: Modernization of Public Consciousness” was published, one of the priorities of which was the creation of the project "Sacred Geography of Kazakhstan." Sacred places reflect the long and eventful life and activities of the people, the struggle for independence. In the work on the register of sacral objects, various scientists are involved: archaeologists, historians, ethnologists, philologists, orientalists.
