July 2 at the press center of the Government, AIFC Governor Kairat Kelimbetov told about the Expat Center of the Astana International Financial Center and the services it provides to foreign visitors.

Within the framework of the implementation of the Nation's Plan "100 Concrete Steps to Implement the Five Institutional Reforms," the Astana International Financial Center was established. Since this year, the activities of the AIFC are being fully implemented.

Since January, the Expat Center, a special body that provides favorable conditions for the entry and localization of foreign employees and members of their families, operates under the AIFC. For example, the AIFC Expat Center provides such services as issuing visas, registering, assigning IINs, accepting tax returns, registering foreign cars (yellow numbers), accrediting AIFC employees and participants, assisting in finding housing, educational and medical institutions, PSC services and others.

For the implementation of the project, the migration and administrative police, the tax police and the PSC are involved, which render services to foreigners on the principle of "one window."

"The ‘one window’ principle is the best practice of such financial centers as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Probably, when you come to another country, it is difficult to adapt immediately. We believe that adaptation issues should not affect the rate of inflow of foreign direct investment into Kazakhstan," Kelimbetov said.

You can get help and answers to the questions you are interested in by contacting Expat Center directly at 8 (800) 080-3838, by e-mail at and on the official website of the center.

In addition, the AIFC governor added that already now Expat Center helps all investors who seek help. Since the beginning of the year, about 250 visas have been issued.

"This work has already begun, we want to scale it, gradually increase the volume. In the future, we plan that we will serve not only the AIFC participants, but in general all investors who will register in our city. Here, a lot of support comes from state bodies — ministries of finance, justice, internal affairs. I think this will be a great deal to generally help our investors," the AIFC governor said.

According to him, such investors will be given the status of "Investment Residency." The status of an investment resident is available not only for corporations, but also for individuals.
