Sary-Arka Expedition which started August 20, 2018, arrived in the Karkaraly State National Nature Park. In Karkaraly, the expedition members visited the mosque built by Abai's father — Kunanbay Uskenbayev. It is one of the oldest mosques in the country, for more than 160 years its doors have been open to believers. The travelers here were greeted by akim of the region Khalel Maksutov.

The participants have already visited the national parks in Buyratau, Bayanaul and Karkaraly, visited the Kumai archeological complex, the Sokolin mountains, the lakes of Azhybai, Zhasybay and Shaitankol. In Bayanaul Natural Park travelers made a stop at the picturesque shore of the lake Toraigyr.

"There are 12 national parks in Kazakhstan, three of which are marked on the map of our route. Each of them has its own unique beauty, the preservation of which in its original form should be important for every indifferent Kazakhstani," Nurzhan Algashov, head of the expedition, manager of international and scientific projects at QazaqGeography, shared.

Further on the route are two national parks: Kokshetau Nature Park and Korgalzhyn State Nature Reserve, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It should be reminded that in July a large-scale project “Uly Dala Eline Sayahat” was launched to develop the tourist potential of Kazakhstan, organized by Kazakh Tourism National Company on the order of the Tourism Industry Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The expedition covers six routes along the most important tourist clusters of the country and passes through 11 of the 14 regions.

The expedition on the route Sary-Arka is realized by QazaqGeography within the framework of the memorandum on mutual cooperation with Kazakh Tourism. The total length of the route will be more than 4,000 km. The team includes travelers, TV journalists, representatives of tour operators and geographic societies, photographers, foreign and Kazakh travel bloggers, including Deonisiy Mit, Erbolat Shadrakhov, Elena Khachina and Ulan Alimbek. As a result of the expedition, a special program on visiting tourist sites will be launched.
