Digital projects with high economic effect to be implemented in regions — Askar Zhumagaliyev

At the meeting of the Government chaired by the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev, Deputy Prime Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev talked about measures taken to accelerate technological modernization of industries and increase labor productivity using digital technologies.

So, only this year, for the development of the digital economy, a number of projects are being implemented, capable of producing an economic effect. These are: non-cash payments, Astana-1, marking of goods, cash registers, increase in tax revenues through virtual storage projects. Projects of digital infrastructure: advanced Internet, fullfilment centers, data processing centers, etc.

For example, although the marking of fur coats is a small project, at the end of the year an effect of at least 300 million tenge is expected. If a similar project is used for other product groups, this will have a big effect.

Zhumagaliyev gave one more example on electronic commerce. According to him, only in the first half of this year the volume of electronic commerce amounted to 101 billion tenge. This is twice as much as in the same period last year.

"At present, we are implementing these projects jointly with state bodies, and then we will replicate them. This work is under constant control," said Deputy Prime Minister Askar Zhumagaliyev.
