Shavkat Mirziyoyev approves agreement on construction of nuclear power plant

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved an agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and Russia on the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan, wrote 24kg.

The document was signed on September 7 in Moscow by the prime ministers of the two countries.

The agreement provides for the design and construction of the nuclear power plant from two power units with a capacity of each up to 1.2 GW.

The site for the construction of the nuclear power plant is an area near the Tudakul lake on the border of Navoiy and Bukhara regions.
