Nursultan Nazarbayev meets with Emmanuel Macron

Upon arrival at the opening ceremony of the 12th Summit of the Asia-Europe Forum, the President of Kazakhstan met with the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, reports the press service of Akorda.

The head of state stressed that 26 years have passed since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, during which all the necessary legal framework was formed.

- I am sure that due to today's meeting, Kazakhstani-French relations will reach a new level. Dozens of French companies are working in our country, the volume of mutual trade can reach 5 billion US dollars, said Nursultan Nazarbayev.

In turn, E. Macron welcomed the Head of State and noted the symbolism of holding the meeting in the year of the 10th anniversary of the conclusion of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between Kazakhstan and France.

- Mr. President, I am doubly pleased to meet you, because this is our first joint meeting since I took office. I hope to discuss with you a number of questions and hear your point of view,” said the President of France.

During the long meeting, which was held in a confidential atmosphere, issues of bilateral relations were discussed, and an open exchange of views on the most topical aspects of the regional and international agenda was held.
