October 26 at the Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev’s meeting with the entrepreneurial community of the Almaty region, the businessmen expressed their support for the initiatives of the President voiced in the Address “Growing Welfare of Kazakh Citizens: Increase in Income and Quality of Life.”

A number of company executives announced a decision to raise the minimum wage to employees. Among them are Almatinskiye Kraski LLP, Abdi Ibrahim Global Farm LLP, Zharkent Starch Factory.

Chairman of the Board of Almatinskiye Kraski LLP Rimma Salykova announced the company's intention to increase the salaries of employees from November 2018. The company has been operating since 2009, producing paint and varnish products for road markings and materials for road repairs.

“State support has played a significant role in the development of the company. We became one of the first participants in the Business Road Map program —received a loan to modernize the plant, through which we purchased new equipment and created jobs. Today we have about 160 employees,” Salykova said.

She also noted that the company's management pays special attention to improving the social status of workers and investing in human capital development.

“We are constantly trying to raise wages to our employees. To date, we have raised salaries by up to 50% for absolutely everyone... And we decided that we still need to raise salaries, because we really want to raise the welfare of the population. We decided to raise salaries by another 15%. We believe that the trade unions and the entire active community should travel through the districts, meet with akims, entrepreneurs and discuss this issue. Well, there is state assistance, for example, tax amnesty supports business. We must raise the social welfare of workers. This task, I think, should be faced by all executives,” said Salykova.

At the same time, she noted that the minimum wage at the enterprise today is 76,000 tenge. An increase of 15% will occur in November. Funds for this are already included in the company's budget.

Director General of Abdi Ibrahim Global Farm LLP Ziyatkhan Hasanov, in his turn, also expressed support for the decision of the President to raise the minimum wage.

“In the Address, the special enthusiasm of the business community in the region was caused by the extension of the Business Road Map program until 2025 with the release of additional funding. An annual investment of 30 billion tenge on the development of domestic business, of course, will give a multiplicative socio-economic effect. This is a new challenge for us. We are one of those enterprises that plans to participate in obtaining the program's state support tools and take an active part, if possible, in the development of its project,” Hasanov said.

Hasanov reported wages at his enterprise: the minimum wage is 12,000, the average — 353,000 tenge. At the same time, the company decided to further increase the salary in the framework of support for the President’s Address.

Chairman of the Board of Zharkent Starch Factory LLP Zakirzhan Kuziyev also spoke on behalf of the region’s entrepreneurial community. The company specializes in the sale of agricultural products. According to him, 63% of products are exported to the countries of Central Asia, China and Russia.

“In the Address of the Head of State to the people of Kazakhstan, the first point is the task of increasing the income of the population. Akimat of the region carried out extensive explanatory work. In this regard, our company increases salaries from December 1. Today, we employ 1,200 people — they are mostly residents of rural areas. The average salary today is 114,000 tenge, the minimum is 68,000. In the whole group of the company, the salary will increase by 1.5%, this will affect 311 employees. Thus, from December 1, 2018, the average salary will be increased up to 127 thousand tenge, and the minimum salary up to 80 thousand,” said Kuziyev, stressing that the salary increase will be carried out exclusively at the expense of the company's profit.

At the end of his speech, Kuziyev expressed confidence that other business representatives will fully support the initiative of the Head of State and will increase the salaries of their employees to the maximum possible level.
