The best startup projects were chosen in Astana

A three-day start-up marathon aimed at the development of innovative eco-culture ended in the capital, the official website of Astana Akimat reports.

The event, organized by the Akimat of Astana and JSC Astana Innovations, stimulates positive social and environmental changes in the capital. As noted by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Astana Innovations JSC, Almaz Amirzinov, Startup Weekend is the final event in 2018 within the Astana Innovation Challenge. The competition is dedicated to the topic of sustainable development.

During the competition, 26 teams were formed, mentors and specialists consulted and assisted participants with work on projects. 10 teams presented to the jury their prototypes related to problems in the housing and utilities sector, the rational use of plastic waste and recycling of waste, replenishment and conservation of water resources and energy.

By decision of the jury prizes were distributed as follows.

The first place with a prize fund of 500 thousand tenge was taken by the EasySor team with an automated system for garbage collection using a neural network. The second place and 300 thousand tenge was won by the ReGoods team with the project of creating bags and other products from used banners. The third place with a prize fund of 200 thousand tenge was taken by the project for the production of pouf fillers using Eco Poof team plastic.

In addition, a three-month internship at BeIn Tech Ventures was received by the Argus team with a multi-touch sensor project for the smart home and Baspanasense - the team developed a prototype multi-touch automatic information collector at home, containing 4 sensors: temperature, humidity, gas pollution and movement.
