Our history is a powerful unifying factor of the people of Kazakhstan, a source of inspiration for all citizens. The leader of the nation, Nursultan Nazarbayev, in his substantive article «The Seven Facets of the Great Steppe», in a very insightful manner, calls on society to respect and study history, to draw lessons from the past. After all, the chronicle of any nation is full of heroism, victories and tragedies, it must be taken for what it is. This requires a scientific approach.

As a diplomat, I note that this fully applies to the issue of the history of relations between our people and the rest of world. President N.Nazarbayev settled all territorial issues of Kazakhstan with neighboring countries, established friendship and strategic partnership with neighboring countries and major powers, builds a system of mutually beneficial regional economic cooperation. It is precisely the lessons of history that prompt Kazakhstan to take a proactive and decisive position in matters of global nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, strengthening political trust and cooperation at the international level, resolving conflicts and crises, and promoting transnational economic projects.

The article «Seven Facets of the Great Steppe» is addressed not only to the Kazakh people, but also to the wider international community - academia, historians, cultural and art workers, specialists in the field of museum and archival affairs, and journalists. N.Nazarbayev calls the world community to take part in the study of the cultural and historical heritage of the steppe civilization. Therefore, this work of the Foreign Ministry will translate into many languages of the world.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will take a direct part in the implementation of projects for the modernization of historical consciousness set forth by the Head of State, since they all have an international dimension. The Foreign Ministry and the embassies of Kazakhstan will provide the necessary assistance to our researchers in working with the largest foreign archives. «Great names of the Great Steppe» - our great ancestors, who are known, respected and honored in different parts of the Earth. Our task is to strengthen the memory of them, to promote the study and perpetuation of their heritage. Together with domestic and foreign scientists, a lot of work is needed to organize the World Congress of Turkology in 2019 in Astana and in general to study Turkic history. Diplomats are ready to take part in museum and cinematographic projects, translating anthologies of steppe folklore into foreign languages and promoting our ancient art and technology on the world stage.

These projects will strengthen and enrich our cooperation with UNESCO, ISESCO, the humanitarian dimension of the CIS, the CCTS and other organizations.

We will also continue the practice of well-reputed thematic cultural press tours to Kazakhstan by foreign media and bloggers as part of the Ruhani Zhangyru program.

We believe that this great work, initiated by the Head of State, will certainly contribute to strengthening the international authority of our country, mutual rapprochement and enrichment of the cultures of the modern world.
