New Kazakh cement plant to start exports to Russia

A plant for the production of high-quality cement was launched In the city of Rudny in Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region, which will meet the needs of the construction industry of Kazakhstan and the southern regions of Russia, Kazakh media reported.

A total of $100 million of investments was spent on the implementation of the project.

Governor of the Kostanay region Arkhimed Mukhambetov, who attended the plant launch ceremony, noted that the state rendered support for its construction.

Director of the enterprise Artem Maklasov, in turn, spoke about the future plans.

"We plan to get the first products within 5 days. There is already a buyer for cement – from Ufa (Russia). They are ready to purchase about 200,000-300,000 tons of cement, that is 50 percent of the design capacity of the plant," the director said.

He also noted that the plant plans to produce 17,200 tons of cement by the end of the year.

According to Maklasov, now the plant employs 190 people, and with a maximum load of the plant, the number of workers will reach 304 people.
