Astana winter marathon II was held in Astana. More than 1,600 athletes from Astana and another 300 in other cities of Kazakhstan, also Russia and Ukraine attented to the Marathon on Sunday, December 23.

The strongest were determined depending on fitness and endurance at three distances: 5, 10 and 21 kilometers. The 42 km classic marathon was canceled - according to international rules, with such a cold, this distance is transferred to a more favorable time for the safety of athletes.

The race was attended by athletes of different ages: the youngest is 12 years old, the most experienced is 74 years old.

The Astana Winter Marathon was held under the motto "Beyond the Possible." The Kazakh marathon runner Marat Zhylanbayev, who ran the largest deserts of Asia, Africa, Australia and America, was the ideological inspirer and sports consultant of the competition.
