Solar power plant to launch in Turkestan region

In the Turkestan region, construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of 20 MW is being completed on 42 hectares of land, the press service of the local government wrote.

The project is being implemented by the Kazakhstan company EcoProTech - Astana with the participation of German investments of DERA GmbH. The total investment is $ 35 million.

As part of the construction of the solar power plant, more than 77,000 photovoltaic modules, 10 inverters and transformers, also 10 switchgears will be installed. Electricity generated from solar energy will be supplied to KEGOC. Within the framework of this project, 20 jobs will be created.

Nowadays metal structures for the modules have been erected at the construction site. In February of this year, solar panels and a transformer unit will be installed. The launch of the power plant is scheduled for March 2019.

The project is fully supported by the branch of JSC “SEC“ Turkestan ”-“ TURKISTAN INVEST ”.
