Over 50,000 Turkish citizens live in Azerbaijan

As many as 55,000 Turkish citizens live in Azerbaijan, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

In addition to Azerbaijan, 40,000 Turkish citizens live in Russia and 2,000 Turkish citizens live in Uzbekistan, according to the report.

Besides, 40,000 Turkish citizens live in Kazakhstan and 5,000 Turkish citizens live in Iran.

In general, 5 million Turkish citizens live abroad.

The Turkish population increased by 1.193 million people and reached 82.3 million people in 2018 compared to 2017, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.

In 2018, 50.2 percent of the Turkish population accounted for men, 49.8 percent - women.
