Kazakh President participates in the opening ceremony of the World Special Olympics

During his working visit to the UAE, the President of Kazakhstan, at the invitation of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, attended the opening ceremony of the World Special Olympics at the Zayed Sports City stadium.

Special Olympics, which are held in Abu Dhabi from March 14 to 21, 2019, were the first such competitions in the history of the countries of the Middle East and North Africa. More than 7500 athletes from more than 170 countries of the world who will compete in 24 sports take part in them.

Kazakhstan is represented by 67 athletes in 15 sports, including: table tennis, tennis, judo, swimming, powerlifting, athletics, volleyball, basketball, mini football, golf, bocce, gymnastics, bowling, jogging and badminton.
