Agreement between automakers of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed in Tashkent

During the First Central Asian Economic Forum held March 15 in the city of Tashkent (Uzbekistan), a contract between Uzbekistan GM and Saryarka AvtoProm LLP was signed.

The signing was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kassymbek and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev.

At the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the automotive industry, issues of expanding investment cooperation, stimulating regional trade, etc. were discussed. The signing of an agreement on the development of the automobile industry was held as a result of the meeting. The parties agreed to release 16 thousand equipment goods for sale, both in the market of Kazakhstan and in export markets, including the Russian Federation by the end of 2019.

Automakers also discussed the creation of a joint venture, a phased work to deepen localization, including on the automotive component base, continued cooperation on new competitive models, measures to improve the quality of products.
