K. Tokayev receives Executive Director of the AIFC Kairat Kelimbetov

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Executive Director of the Astana International Financial Centre Kairat Kelimbetov, Akorda's press service reports.

The head of state was informed about the main results of the activities of the International Financial Center "Astana" in the development of financial markets, protecting the rights and interests of consumers of financial services and investors, as well as trade and investment cooperation.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that the creation of the AIFC is part of the “100 concrete steps” Plan of the Nation, and pointed out the need for the effective implementation of the tasks.

According to Kairat Kelimbetov, the Center has all the necessary infrastructure: the AIFC Court, the International Arbitration Center, the Financial Services Regulatory Committee and the International Exchange. It is also planned to launch the Ejustice online portal, which will allow the parties to sue the AIFC and the MAC in electronic format from anywhere in the world.

In addition, the President of Kazakhstan was informed that, thanks to the conditions created in the country to improve the investment climate, the AIFC in the global index of financial centers rose to 51st place, in which 102 different financial institutions are represented.

In conclusion, the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions for the further development and promotion of the Astana International Financial Center.
