Kassym-Jomart Tokayev receives Minister of Education and Science Kulyash Shamshidinova

The head of state was informed about the progress in implementing the State Program for the Development of Education and Science.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called important the continuation of work on the elimination of three-shift training, the construction of new schools, as well as a phased transition to trilingual education.

The Minister of Education reported on the state of technical and vocational education, measures to establish interaction between business and educational institutions. During the meeting, particular attention was paid to improving the quality of higher education and the compliance of university graduates with the demands of the labor market.

The head of state ordered to relieve school teachers and university professors from unnecessary accountability, to take concrete measures to raise the status of a teacher and state support for scientists, especially for the humanities conducting research in the state language.

Following the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan stressed that the education system will continue to be the focus of his attention.
