It is reported by the press service of Prosecutor’s General Press-Office.

Today in the frameworks of working visit to Sofia (Bulgaria) Gizat Nurdauletov, Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan, met with Sotir Tsatsarov, Prosecutor General of Bulgaria, and Danail Kirilov, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The heads of the supervisory bodies of both countries discussed issues of further strengthening bilateral legal cooperation and the need to unite efforts in the crime prevention.

That day took place signing ceremony of the Extradition Agreement of convicts between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Bulgaria by G. Nurdauletov, Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan, and D. Kirilov, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Bulgaria.

This international document will enable Kazakhstani citizens in case of their sentence for offences to custody in Bulgaria to serve the given sentence in our country. In its turn it will create favourable conditions for rehabilitation and integration of convicts into the society upon their citizenship. Same possibility will gain Bulgarian citizens in case of their conviction in Kazakhstan.

Execution of such international agreements is conditioned by requirements of Art. 11 of Constitution of the Republic Kazakhstan whereby the state guarantees its citizens protection and patronage outside its territory.

Let us recall, that in November 2014 Kazakhstan yet signed with Bulgarian side agreements on mutual legal assistance on criminal matters and surrender of persons.

It is worth mentioning that Bulgaria has become next European country that has established with Kazakhstan all required international-legal base for cooperation in the field of fighting against crime and law enforcement as well as for protection of fundamental rights and interests of citizens.
