It is reported by the press service of PM.

In 2019, the test base of the Unified National Testing has been updated by more than 30%. Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov announced at a press conference in the Government’s press center.

According to Aimagambetov, the base of test tasks was updated in 2019. Questions focus on functional literacy, determining the level of logical thinking, basic competences and understanding.

“One of the most important for us is updating the content of the questions themselves. Questions should not be directed to the reproduction of some learned information, just to reproduce certain facts from memory. It is necessary through this test to understand his literacy, as far as the child is oriented, as far as he can use the data he received at school. The base of test questions and the very accent and content will be transformed,” said the minister.

Aimagambetov emphasized that the most experienced and advanced teachers were involved in compiling the questions. Developers and experts are selected from among teachers and other employees of educational organizations, which can be recommended by regional, city education departments, language development departments, regional language training centers, advanced training institutes, teaching and methodical associations, colleges, universities.

At the same time, the minister noted that if there are ambiguous answers in the tests, or, according to graduates, incorrect answers, it is necessary to refer to the appeal procedure. Appeal commissions are established at each test point, moreover, the Republican Appeal Commission has been established. The commission includes experienced highly qualified specialists who are focused on the objectivity of the consideration of the appeal.

“There are such cases, even in science, on certain dates, events, contradicting information may appear. Therefore, sometimes graduates come to appeal to prove and show the appropriate source. I wanted to note that the number of issues confirmed by the commission is decreasing many times,” Aimagambetov noted.

Note that in 2019 the number of school graduates who applied for participation in the test was 96,380 people, including 73,389 in the Kazakh language, 22,823 in Russian, which is 75:25. The test will be held from June 20 to 30 at 169 test sites in nine streams. Testing will be conducted in five subjects: three mandatory and two specialized subjects in accordance with the selected group of educational programs. In total there are 120 test items. The maximum number of points is 140.
