Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Shakirov, reports the press service of Akorda.

The head of state was informed about the current activities of the Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as the outcome of the meeting of ombudsmen of the countries of Central Asia in Tashkent. According to Askar Shakirov, the participants of this event approved the Roadmap for cooperation of regional ombudsmen, reviewed the human rights aspects of migration processes and cross-border relations.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed to the need for active work with government agencies and non-governmental organizations to ensure the rights and interests of socially vulnerable groups of the population. The President instructed to strengthen the monitoring of the protection of their rights, as well as assist in obtaining targeted social assistance.
