Speaking to the participants of the ceremony, the First President of Kazakhstan stressed that August 29 is a historic day for the global anti-nuclear movement.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that despite the lessons of history, there is tension and a crisis of trust between the nuclear powers in the world.

The first President of Kazakhstan stressed that the danger of nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorist organizations remains in the world.

- Potentially dangerous nuclear materials are stored in more than 20 countries around the world, each of which can become a target of destructive forces. The era of comprehensive artificial intelligence, which can solve more complex problems than artificial intelligence, is approaching , Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

Elbasy also pointed to the risks associated with the fact that none of the nine nuclear-weapon countries is considering curtailing military programs.

- In other words, humanity is going through a hitherto unprecedented difficult stage of its development. In the context of growing aggression and decreasing mutual trust at the global level, any of these problems can plunge the world community into uncontrolled chaos. Not only politicians, but also ordinary people in different countries of the world are deeply concerned about this, - said the First President of Kazakhstan.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that Kazakhstan is a party to all fundamental international treaties in the field of nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation and peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The first President of Kazakhstan stressed that the desire for a world free of nuclear weapons has become an important component of the national consciousness of Kazakhstan.

Elbasy called on the leaders of all nuclear powers to take decisive steps in favor of dialogue about the future of our planet.

In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed to the importance of implementing an effective system of legally binding negative security assurances by nuclear powers.
