Kazakhstan stands for a peaceful solution to the middle East problem

Chairman of the Senate Dariga Nazarbayeva received Palestinian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Montaser Abu Zeid, press service of the Senate reports. 

The diplomat congratulated the Head of the Senate from the Palestinian National Council on the occasion of her election to the post of head of the upper house of Parliament and wished her further success.

D. Nazarbayeva stressed that "Kazakhstan from the first days of independence stands for the solution of the middle East problem in a peaceful way and supports humanitarian actions of the international community aimed at the speedy socio-economic rehabilitation of Palestine."

The Ambassador expressed his deep gratitude for the support and cooperation on the main issues of the international agenda.

Speaking about the development of trade and economic cooperation, M. Abu Zeid informed about the construction of a multifunctional complex Abu Dhabi Plaza, which will be the tallest building in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. 76 floors have already been built, and the Sheraton hotel will be commissioned in late October.

The sides also discussed the possibility of expanding investment cooperation, simplifying the visa regime for Palestinian citizens, as well as the conflict in the Tengiz oil field. An interdepartmental Commission has been set up to study the issues. The speaker of the Senate stressed the need to comply with the legislation of Kazakhstan by foreign citizens, as well as respect for national traditions and customs of the Kazakh people.
