Issues on the cooperation in agriculture were discussed in Oman

Meeting of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Oman Najmedin Muhametali with the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries of Oman Hamad al Aufi took place.

The parties discussed questions on cooperation development in the field of agriculture. During the meeting, intensification of partnership between Kazakhstan and Oman agricultural companies was noted. The Omani side is interested in increasing imports including cereals and meat products, as well as export of seafood. In order to intensify bilateral cooperation, the Omani side proposed visits’ exchange by the heads of agricultural ministries.

A constructive exchange of views on the provision of logistics to increase the supply of agricultural products of the two countries was also hold. In particular, the potential of the Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan - Iran railway line, as well as the International Transit Transport Corridor (Ashgabat Agreement), to which Iran, Kazakhstan, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are parties, was noted.  The parties noted the need to intensify joint efforts to develop transport links.
