The Head of state met with the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili, press service of Akorda reports.  

Tokayev meets UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed the importance of the UNWTO Global summit on urban tourism "Smart cities, smart destinations" in the capital of Kazakhstan.

- We believe that your visit is of great importance. I would like to express my gratitude for your personal support for the candidacy of the city of Nur-Sultan as the venue for the Eighth Global summit of the World Tourism Organization. For Kazakhstan, the development of tourism, including ecotourism and urban tourism, is very important. Therefore, we look forward to cooperation with your organization," the President said.

Zurab Pololikashvili thanked the Head of state for the meeting and noted the importance for UNWTO of cooperation with Kazakhstan on the development of the local tourism industry.
