Alikhan Smailov attends 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE)

First Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Finance Alikhan Smailov took part in the opening ceremony of the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai during his visit to China, reports.

A. Smailov visited the national and commercial pavilions of Kazakhstan at the Shanghai exhibition, provided by the Ministry of Commerce of China in order to demonstrate the economic and investment potential of Kazakhstan.

During the talks between President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of China XI Jinping, held in the framework of participation in the XIX meeting of the SCO SGG in Bishkek on 13.06.2019, the Chinese side invited Kazakhstan to participate as an honorary guest at the II China international exhibition of imported goods in November.

The Republic of Kazakhstan has placed a national stand at the Shanghai exhibition to demonstrate the economic and investment potential of the country.

The national pavilion of the Republic of Kazakhstan is represented by eight major companies, including JSC NC "Kazakh Invest", "Samruk-Kazyna", "Baiterek", AIFC, "Astana Expo-2017","Kazakh Export", "TSRTP "Qaztrade"," Kazakhtourism "and ICBC "Khorgos" to present the country's opportunities in the field of investment, trade, business and tourism.

Also, 30 companies of food and agricultural industries of Kazakhstan presented Kazakh products at the Shanghai import exhibition.

A number of export contracts were signed within the framework of the exhibition.

Last year, more than 3 thousand companies from more than 130 countries took part in the I China international import exhibition in Shanghai. Two hundred of them are included in the list of 500 largest enterprises in the world.

About 5 thousand items of various products and technologies were presented at the exhibition area.

The large-scale event was attended by 18 heads of state and government and about 160 thousand buyers.
