Council of Europe to open regional office in Kazakhstan

Conference “Enhanced Integration for Regional Prosperity in Central Asia” dedicated to the launch of three new regional programs of the European Union (EU) for the development of trade, the rule of law and business attractiveness in Central Asia, has started in the capital of Kazakhstan. It was reported by the press service of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.


 - First of all, I would like to thank Ambassador Carlsson for his kind introduction and for giving me this great opportunity to address you today.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the organizers of this timely event for the excellent preparation and introduction of three new programmes aimed at the further improvement of investment climate, rule of law and development potential of Kazakhstan and Central Asia as a whole.

In this regard, we are pleased to welcome our esteemed colleagues from the Council of Europe and the Venice Commission, as well as representatives of the International Trade Center and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, who will work closely with us on the implementation of the new significant initiatives,- said Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Vassilenko. 

In turn, V.Taylor highly appreciated the commitment of Kazakhstan and President Tokayev personally to further strengthen the rule of law in the country, activities to deepen cooperation with the Council of Europe, including through the accession of our country to the Group of countries to fight corruption (GRECO) and thematic conventions of the Council of Europe.
