More than 13 thousand ethnic Kazakhs returned to their historical homeland this year. This was announced by the Minister of labor and social protection Birzhan Nurymbetov during the round table on migration in the capital.

"Kazakhstan is one of the rare countries that pursues a policy to create conditions for the return of ethnic Kazakhs to their historical homeland. If for all the years of independence more than 1 million ethical Kazakhs arrived in the country, this year 13 thousand of our compatriots have returned to the country, " Birzhan Nurymbetov said.

The Minister stressed that due to the fact that Kazakhstan is a country of transit, destination, and recently-and the Exodus of migrants, the problem of uncontrolled global migration is urgent for our Republic.

"It is not easy to assess the volume and composition of unregulated migration, so the formation of common approaches and data collection system at the international and regional level is a priority," Birzhan Nurymbetov added.
