A conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of maslikhats held in the capital

A Republican conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the formation of maslikhats of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Nur-Sultan, press service of the Senate reports.

The event was attended by members of Parliament, regional maslikhats and members of the Government.

The conference was opened by the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament Dariga Nazarbayeva, who urged her colleagues to take concrete steps for the development of local self-government bodies as a real mechanism of participation of citizens in the process of making state decisions and control over their implementation.

 

Presentations were also made by the secretaries of the regional maslikhats. Secretary of the Almaty regional maslikhat Sultan Dyusembinov noted that the essence and nature of the issues considered by the deputies of the maslikhats, varies greatly depending on the level of socio-economic development of the region.

In turn, the Secretary of the North Kazakhstan regional maslikhat Vladimir Bubenko said that the deputies, elected to the representative authorities, understand that they are delegated the right to make difficult decisions and they are responsible for their implementation in the interests of fellow countrymen.

Currently, there are 3335 deputies in 216 maslikhats of the country in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including 17 regional, 36 city and 163 district maslikhats.
