Gennady Golovkin ranks 6 at WBN

In WBN’s pound for pound rankings Gennady Golovkin is on 6th place.  

WBN’s pound for pound rankings are based on –  World title wins, multi-weight titles, caliber of opponents and manner of victories. Longevity and activity in a calendar year are also taken into consideration. Fighters earn more ranking points for defeating opponents also rated in the Top 50. Star ratings are based on achievement in the sport.

To recall, GGG has earned a gold belt of the WBC in the years 2014-2018. In 2010 Golovkin had his first fight for the world title — in the third round he knocked out Colombian Nelson Julio Tapia (14-2-1) and won the WBA belt. Two years later, he added another title to it - IBO, which was vacant at the time of the fight with American Lachuan Simon (23-3-2). Gennady had to wait for the IBF belt until October 2015, when he won another knockout over canadian David Lemieux (34-2). In may 2016, the Kazakh boxer became the WBC champion — the belt was his after the rejection of the uture opponent, Mexican Saul Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KO).

According to Worldboxingnews.net, G. Golovkin was also recognized as the best boxer of 2013, 2014, 2015,2017.
