The Ministry of internal affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the competent authorities is carrying out systematic work on the liberalization of the visa-migration regime. One of the stages is the abolition of mandatory registration of foreigners arriving in Kazakhstan.

The adoption of the amendments exempts foreigners staying in our country for up to 30 days from the obligation to register with the migration service. In the case of a stay of more than 30 days, a temporary residence permit is issued to the foreigner. At the same time, the foreigner himself does not apply to the police Department to obtain a permit.

The responsibility for informing about the arrival, stay and registration of a temporary residence permit of a foreigner is assigned to the receiving individuals and legal entities.

In turn, the parties receiving the foreigner (hotels, hostels, rental apartments, medical institutions, individuals, etc.) are obliged to inform the migration service about the stay of the foreigner within three working days. In accordance with the current legislation, in case of violations, the receiving party bears administrative responsibility under article 518 of the administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which entails a warning to individuals, a fine to officials, small businesses or non-profit organizations in the amount of 10 monthly calculation indicators, to medium-sized businesses-in the amount of 15 MCI, to large businesses-in the amount of 20 MCI.

At the same time, unnecessary administrative barriers are eliminated, and in general, the investment and tourist attractiveness of the country and the transparency of migration processes in the Republic of Kazakhstan will increase.

In total, over the past 2019, more than 164 thousand foreign citizens arrived on the territory of the Turkestan region. 7663 offenders were brought to administrative responsibility for violations of the migration legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including 5 170 foreigners and 2 493 citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
