President of the NOC meets with Kazakh athletes

President of the NOC of Kazakhstan Timur Kulibayev attended the official events of the International Olympic Committee which is held in Lausanne (Switzerland) in the framework of the third winter Youth games 2020, Olympic.kz reports.

The head of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan participated in the 135th session of the IOC. Reports of the IOC President, the organizing committees of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games, the Lausanne 2020 winter games, and the Dakar 2022 summer Games were presented at the meetings.

During the session, it was decided to hold the 2024 youth Olympic games in Gangwon, Pyeongchang. These two cities have already hosted the winter Olympic games in 2018, so the application met all the requirements of the Olympic agenda 2020.

In addition, Timur Kulibayev took part in a meeting of the IOC Commission on public relations and social development through sport, and met with IOC President Thomas Bach on the sidelines of the session. The head of the IOC and the President of the NOC of Kazakhstan discussed preparations for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

As part of his working trip, the NOC President also visited the Olympic village of the III youth Olympic Games in Lausanne, where he met with Kazakh athletes.
