Eagle hunters tournament to be held in West Kazakhstan

Republican tournament of eagle hunters "Zhaiyk kyrany - 2020" will be held on January 24-25, 2020 in West Kazakhstan, press service of the Ministry of culture and sport reports.

The history of hunting with birds of prey on the territory of Kazakhstan goes bsck to 3 thousand years. Rock paintings dating back to the 8-9 centuries BC indicate that even in those days people tamed birds of prey and used them for hunting.

According to the organizers, the upcoming tournament will contribute to the popularization of the national sport among the population and the development of domestic tourism. The tournament will also be able to attract foreign tourists who are interested in the unique traditions and beautiful places of our country.

This event has been held since 2018 on the initiative of the Foundation for the promotion of scientific research with the participation of berkutchi and tourists from different regions of Kazakhstan and Russia (Samara, Tolyatti, Ulyanovsk, Perm). A large number of participants and tourists from Russia and regions of Kazakhstan are planning to visit the beautiful spectacle of berkutchi.

The prize fund of the tournament is planned in the amount of 1.5 (one and a half million) million tenge and is formed by raising funds.
