Blizzards and snowfall warning for some regions as snow, frigid conditions continue

Kazakh weather service announced forecast for Thursday, January 23.  

Fog, ice, blizzard, and increased wind are expected in In some regions of Kazakhstan.

In Akmola, North Kazakhstan, and Kostanay regions, winds are expected to increase by 15-20, in some places by 23-28 m/s, gusts of 30 m/s or more with a snowstorm.

Fog is expected for Kostanai region.

In Pavlodar the wind is expected to increase by 15-20, in some places 23-28 m/s, gusts of 30 m/s or more, a snowstorm and ice will be in some places.

In Karaganda the wind is expected to increase at night 15-20, in places 23-28 m/s, in the afternoon 15-20, gusts of 23-28 m/s, in places blizzard, fog, ice might occur.

In Kyzylorda the wind is expected to increase by 15-20, at night and in the morning in places 25 m/s, in places Blizzard, fog and ice are expected.

In the East Kazakhstan blizzard, ice, increased winds of 15-20, gusts of 23-28 m/s are expected.

In Atyrau, Zhambyl regions in some places fog, ice, Blizzard, the wind of 15-20 m/sec are expected.

In West Kazakhstan, Aktobe regions in places are expected ice, wind 15-20 m/s.

In Turkestan, Mangystau regions in places are expected fog, wind 15-20 m/s.

In Almaty fog is present.

According to education officials, the school cancelled for students of all grades in Nur-Sultan due to storm.
