The issue of commemorative coins of al-Farabi, as well as postage stamps with the image of the great philosopher and educator Abai was initiated by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Washington, the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reports

On the front side of the coin was placed the image of al-Farabi and on the reverse side is the logo of "Ruhani zhangyru" with an eagle hovering over the steppes. According to experts, the eagle represents the revival of the cultural and spiritual heritage of the Kazakh people.

The Embassy also plans to hold a number of events this year dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of al-Farabi and the 175th anniversary of Abay.

So, in February of this year, Kazakhstan films will be shown at leading universities in the United States. During the year, it is planned to hold photo exhibitions and round tables, as well as the presentation of books about the life and work of al-Farabi and Abay for American expert and academic circles.

It should be noted that the information resources of the Embassy regularly publish materials and photos of Western travelers about the history of Kazakhstan in the XIX century.
