Mukhtar Auezov's book about Abai presented in Hungarian

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Budapest organized a round table dedicated to the Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev on his 175th anniversary this year. Guests also enjoyed book and photo exhibitions about poet's life and work. The event was held by National academic library of Kazakhstan, Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary reports.

Representatives of the creative intelligentsia, socio-political, scientific and cultural circles of Hungary and Kazakhstan, Abai studiers, the Kazakh diaspora, as well as Hungarian students studying the Kazakh language, culture and traditions, attended the meeting.

Ambassador Zh. Abdrashov noted in his welcome speech that Kazakhstan and Hungary are developing not only political and economic relations, but also actively promoting cultural and humanitarian cooperation. There is a monument to A.Kunanbayev in Budapest.

Advisor of Prime Minister of Hungary, the President of the Hungarian Pen Club G.Szőcs noted the deep philosophical meaning of Abai's works and his contribution to the world cultural heritage. He also highly appreciated the development of bilateral cultural and humanitarian relations between Kazakhstan and Hungary. Besides, during the event, there was a presentation of the second edition of M. Auezov's book "The Path of Abai" in Hungarian.

After the event, attendees laid flowers at the monument of Abai Kunanbai in the Central Park of Budapest on Astana street, during which representatives of the Kazakh Diaspora, as well as Kazakh and Hungarian students performed poems and songs, as well as words of edification of Abai.
