Governor of the Turkestan region Umirzak Shukeyev met Robert Gillen, head of the delegation of the American multinational company "Valmont Industries", which is the largest manufacturer and distributor of mechanized irrigation machines in the world. This is reported by the press service of the governor of the Turkestan region.

The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the application of high technologies for mechanized irrigation in the region. In particular, the conversation touched upon the implementation of sprinkler irrigation systems in the Turkestan region, as well as the possibility of building a plant for the production of modern irrigation systems and crop yield management. At the same time, investments in the project will amount to about $50 million.

During the meeting, the Governor of the region stressed the importance of introducing modern technologies in agricultural production.

"All conditions for investors have been created in our region. We are always open and ready for close cooperation and implementation of joint projects. We have a favorable climate for growing agricultural products. I am convinced that the use of a sprinkler irrigation system will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector," U. Shukeyev said.

In turn, Robert Gillen noted that American irrigation technologies will increase crop productivity and reduce water consumption in agriculture by 50%.

In addition, the delegation from the United States expressed its readiness to develop cooperation not only in agriculture, but also in the field of energy, transport, and the formation of a food belt.

Umirzak Shukeyev also highlighted the main advantages of the region for the implementation of potential projects by TNK "Valmont Industries", namely, the construction boom in the region, the need for new technologies in various fields and the possibility of their implementation, as well as the plans of the akimat to scale up the projects for the introduction of sprinkler systems in the region.

Following the meeting, the Governor of the region instructed to create a working group under the leadership of the Deputy Governor of the Turkestan region, Meirzhan Myrzaliev, to implement joint projects, including determining a land plot with the necessary infrastructure to accommodate the production of sprinkler plants.
